The Kung Fu Kids Class is for ages 4 - 7. This is a very child-friendly class, instructing the children in the basics of Kung Fu.

Through learning the basic techniques of Kung Fu, children improve their motor-skills, develop positive self-esteem, and increase their self-confidence.

In addition to Kung Fu, we also provide a program called Stranger Danger. This program educates students on basic physical and non-physical self defense techniques. It also develops life habits that promote personal safety. This program has been used by many Tyler School District campuses and is aired as a PSA throughout the school year on the TISD channel.

We love children and our Stranger Danger Program is designed to teach them life skills. In that, we instruct children of potential dangers and then equip them with the necessary skills to ensure their safety. 

Little Mantis Curriculum

For ages 3.5 & 4

The Little Mantis classes are fun and jam-packed with kicks, punches, blocks, and tumbling, all designed to improve your child's motor skills while teaching self-defense.

This class is divided into five parts:

  1.  Balance Skills
  2.  Focus Training
  3.  Concentration Development
  4.  Hand & Eye Coordination
  5.  Team Work

 *Each lesson is accompanied with the Kung Fu technique of the day, a life skills example, and we end in fun with the Kung fu game.

Big Mantis Curriculum

For ages 5 - 7

The skills your child learns in the Big Mantis class will serve them for the rest of their lives.

The classes are great fun. Each lesson is filled with very practical, age appropriate self-defense techniques along with positive self-esteem building skills. We call them LIFE SKILLS.

Big Mantis students learn the 8 Basic Punches, Kicks, and Stances of Kung fu. We also follow the A.D.E. acronym:

A - Avoid any person or situation you feel threatened by
D - Division - put an object between you and danger (a car, tree, or fence)
E - Escape - RUN FROM DANGER! NEVER HANG AROUND AND FIGHT IF YOU CAN FIRST RUN AWAY.

 The techniques your child learns will definitely aid him\her in the ESCAPE phase.  Should they need to defend themselves, they will have the necessary skills to do so.

Super Mantis Class

Super mantis classes are awesome!

The Kung Fu kids test their skills with sparring and cool weapons!
Every class is a high energy, jam-packed lesson using techniques learned from Big Mantis.

  • Staff

All weapons are padded as well as the sparring gear.
